Cafeteria/Nutrition Services
SCUSD Nutrition Services Information
Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students for the 2022-2023 school year. Nutrition Services encourages families to complete the 2022-2023 Meal Application if they require assistance for other programs that require proof of low income status such as cable, internet and other services. For more information see the Nutrition Services website.
Milk is only free if it is part of a meal. If a student brings their bag lunch, they will have to select a fruit, vegetable and a milk to receive it for free.
If a student would like to pay for milk, they will need to have money in their account. All of our cafeterias are cashless.
Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria. If your student is eating breakfast, they may be dropped off at the cafeteria's gate, as early as 7:45am. Students need to arrive for breakfast with enough time to be finished eating by the 8:12 AM line-up bell.
See Laurelwood's Daily Schedule for the lunch schedule.

Cafeteria Payments
(For school years when free meals are not provided for all students: Students that qualify for Free or reduced priced meals will not need to make any meal payments after they are qualified.)
For Adults or all other students, payments can be made four ways.
1. Online payments. GO TO Schoolcafe allows for all parents to set up an online account to monitor your student’s balance and
activity for free. It provides the ability to set up low balance alerts so that your student always has money for meals.
2. Payments can also be made on your mobile SchoolCafe app with a credit or debit card. There is a small fee for the credit card
processing
3. Payments can also be made in the school office. Envelopes are available for your convenience. To help increase the speed of
the lunch line, we are asking that all payments go through the office. Nutrition Services will pick up the payments each morning and
deposit them.
4. We do accept cash or checks in the cafeteria, but we are highly encouraging all payments to be made online or in the school
office. We do not provide change at the register. All extra money will be applied to the students account. This will increase the speed of the service line and allow the students more time to eat.
Application Process for Free/Reduced Meals
To qualify for Free meals you must submit a new meal application for EACH school year.
We have a tool that allows you complete your meal application, check your student’s account balance and view and print your eligibility letter.
Please visit our new website, GO TO SchoolCafe, where you can find the 'create your account'.
You can also do your application through your Smart device! Find SchoolCafe in your app store, and you can complete your application, view your status, view and print your letter, and view your student’s balance right from your mobile phone.
Only one application per household is needed.
Please include all of your students on one application.
You can also receive a paper application from your school site office or at our Nutrition Services office at the District Office, 1889 Lawrence Road, Santa Clara, CA 95052
