    Kindergarten PARENT Orientation (virtual- Zoom) Meeting Wednesday 8/11/21 6pm-6:30pm

    Dear Laurelwood Kindergarten Parents:

    Welcome to Laurelwood Elementary School.

    Dr Rogers and Mr Fuller will be hosting a virtual parent orientation through Zoom.

    When: Wednesday, 8/11/21, 

    at 6-6:30 pm

    We normally host this in person on the first day, but we have been advised to avoid large gatherings at this time.

    You will have a chance to ask questions after the presentation.

    You will have a chance to “meet us” and our new PTA president, Carrie Padgett. 

    This is, of course, optional for parents who already have students at Laurelwood.

      • 8am drop off. Students may play on the yard until the 8:15 am bell rings AFTER day one student orientation.

    • Kinder Opening Schedule

      • DAY 1 - Thursday, August 12th- 8:15am to 9:55am - please walk in with your child to the K yard

      • DAY 2 - Friday, August 13th through Wed.., Sept. 1st. - 

        8:15am to 11:51am

      • DAY16 - Thurs. Sept 2nd -

        8:15 to 2:10 pm 

        Full Day begins for K

        Hot lunch begins - meals are free for all students 8 am and 11:25 am

      • Every Wednesday is early dismissal for all grade levels at 1:20 pm and for K beginning, September 7, 2021.

    • Mask must be worn upon arrival and departure; inside the classroom and at assemblies with other classes. Students may remove masks for snack, lunch and playground; while drinking water. Staff and parents must also wear masks upon entering campus during arrival of students.

       

      -Water bottles and snack bags must be clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name

       

      -Bottle filling stations are located around the campus, but drinking fountains are closed due for health and safety reasons

       

    • Classroom supplies needed are linked on the Laurelwood Schoolloop website.

    • Note: There may be shifts in classroom assignments during the week of 8/16 to balance classes.
