The PREFERRED method for reporting your child's absence* is to GO TO the LW Electronic Absence Reporting Formcomplete the information, and submit the form electronically.

*If you know in advance that your child will be absent for **3 or more school days, in addition to reporting the absence as stated above, you also need to GO TO the SCUSD Absence Notification Form and submit a hard copy of the completed form to the office prior to the absence.

As a courtesy, please also notify your child's classroom teacher.

**Note that a reported absence is not necessarily considered an "excused" absence. GO TO the SCUSD Student and Parent Information Handbook, pages 9-11, and also The SCUSD Board Policy for details regarding attendance, excused/unexcused absences, tardies and truancy.

If the electronic form is not working for your device, then you may call (408) 423-1605 to report your child's absence, BUT please be sure to

speak slowly & clearly and provide us with ALL of the following-

~Your child's room number and teacher's name

~The reason for their absence

~Your name and relationship to the child

GO TO the SCUSD Board Policy for details regarding excused and unexcused absences.
