  • Please note that these tours are for ADULTS ONLY.

NOTE: Starting this year, Kindergarten Registration appointment times will ONLY be scheduled ONLINE through Sign-Up Genius. 

To schedule and prepare for your appointment ONLINE, follow all of the instructions in the box on the right entitled, "NEW STUDENT Registrations for the 2018-2019 school year for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades."  

Please do NOT line up outside the Laurelwood office on the morning of January 10th, as we will NOT be making appointments in person, or be able to take any walk-ins. The Kindergarten Registration* time frame for the 2018-19 school year begins on January 10, 2018, and ends on February 7, 2018. Be sure to schedule your appointment ONLINE today!

NEW STUDENT Registration for the CURRENT School Year (2017-2018), Grades TK to 5th

Registering NEW students entering Laurelwood during the CURRENT school year (2017-2018), Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 5th grades.

 

Note that Elementary school student registration for students new to the district AND students new to a school for the 2017-2018 school year opened on January 17, 2017.

 

Step 1.)  Online Registration (STARTING JULY 31, 2017) - GO TO SCUSD Aeries Internet Registration

               Complete at home, then print, sign and bring to office during the hours of registration-

During the school year the registration hours are: Monday-Friday, 10am–12:00pm.

 

Step 2.)  Bring COPIES* of ALL of the REQUIRED Documents listed below in Parts A and B. 

*Make photocopies of ALL documents PRIOR TO coming to the office, as we cannot make copies for you.

A. Registration Documents: COPIES* of ALL Documents are REQUIRED.

You will need to bring COPIES* of ALL of the following items with you.  Make copies of ALL documents in advance as we cannot make copies in the office.

  • Printed and Signed record of completion of Online Registration (from step #1 above)
  • Birth certificate or passport, to prove age. Bring a copy - We cannot make copies in office.
  • Immunization Record (shot record) must be presented upon registration. Bring a copy - We cannot make copies in office. (Do not wait for immunization record to be completed before registering, you will be given some time to complete shot record).  If Immunization Record is written from another country. You must have the Immunization Record "Transcribed" by a doctor in the US.  Children will not be registered in a class until immunizations are in compliance.
  • Student Emergency Release Form (English / Spanish)
  • SCUSD Handbook “Technology page” (GO HERE for SCUSD Handbook) then print page 2 and complete

 

B. Proof of Residency Documents: COPIES* of ALL Documents are REQUIRED.

You will need to bring COPIES* of ALL of the following items with you.  Make copies of ALL documents in advance as we cannot make copies in the office.

 

For Home Owners:  Bring completed Residency Declaration PLUS a copy* of one bill from each line below-

  • Residency Declaration (Proof of Residency) Form (English Spanish)

  • A current (30 day) Utility bill in your name (i.e. water, garbage, electric, PG&E)

  • Telephone bill (current 30 day) or Cell phone bill (current 30 day)

  • Property Tax statement

For Renters:  Bring completed Residency Declaration PLUS a copy* of one bill from each line below-

  • Residency Declaration (Proof of Residency) Form (English Spanish)

  • A current (30 day) Utility bill in your name (i.e. water, garbage, electric, PG&E)

  • Telephone bill (current 30 day) or Cell phone bill (current 30 day)

  • Copy of the Lease/Rental Agreement and current (30 day) receipt for payment.

If you are currently living in temporary housing, or a different housing arrangement, you will be asked to complete and bring the Residency Declaration PLUS a copy* of one item from EACH line below-

  • Residency Declaration (Proof of Residency) Form (homeowner/rental agreement person sign(English / Spanish)

  • A current (30 day) Utility bill from the person you are living with (i.e. water, garbage, electric, PG&E)

  • Their property tax statement or lease with current (30 day) rental receipt.

  • Their home phone bill (current 30 day) or their cell phone bill (current 30 day)

  • Your DMV registration showing your address that you live at this location.

  • Your Major credit card bill or doctor/dentist bill showing your current address.

NEW STUDENT Registrations for the UPCOMING (2018-2019) school year for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades

The NEW STUDENT Registration Period for grades TK-5th Grade for the 2018-2019 school year is

 from January 10, 2018, through February 7, 2018

 

WHO NEEDS TO DO THIS?  Current Laurelwood students do NOT need to take any action at this time. Registration for the 2018-2019 school year will occur automatically. Only those students who will be NEW to Laurelwood/SCUSD in 2018-2019 need to complete this process.

 

WHERE DO I GO TO REGISTER? Complete the New Student Registration process with your "Home School".  GO TO SCUSD's My School Locator to find your assigned “Home School”.  If Laurelwood IS your assigned “Home School”, then follow ALL of the New Student Registration steps below-

 

Process for Registering NEW STUDENTS in Grades TK-5th for 2018-2019:

 

Step 1.)  SIGN UP ONLINE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME  - Appointment times will ONLY be scheduled ONLINE through Sign-Up Genius by clicking on the following link: http://bit.ly/2A8JCYY starting on 12/6/17.

NEW process beginning THIS year:  Prior to arriving at Laurelwood, you must FIRST sign-up ONLINE for an appointment time. Walk-ins/those without an appointment through Sign-Up Genius will be redirected back to the appointment sign-up page at http://bit.ly/2A8JCYY in order to schedule your registration appointment. (Note that hours offered for appointments are M-F, 9:00am to 1:00pm.). No paperwork is necessary at this time.

 

Step 2.)  COMPLETE ONLINE REGISTRATION*  -  From your own home or personal device, starting at 9:00am on 1/10/18, apply for Registration ONLINE.  Note that any Registrations or Open Enrollments submitted online PRIOR TO 9:00am on 1/10/18 WILL NOT BE PROCESSED even though you did not receive an error message.  You MUST submit AFTER 9:00am on 1/10/18 by clicking  https://air.scusd.net/airselect "2018-2019' school year, and then print, sign and bring your online registration document to the Laurelwood office during your APPOINTMENT Time (see Step 1. above) along with copies* of the rest of the required documents (see Step 3 below). 

*IF your student is currently registered in a TK class in SCUSD for the 2017-2018 school year, SKIP this Online Registration step.  

              

Step 3.) RETURN AT YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME WITH ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS* LISTED BELOW  - COPIES of ALL documents are REQUIRED at your appointment time.  Make copies of ALL documents in advance and bring with you as we cannot make copies in the office.  Your student's registration cannot be processed/completed until ALL required documents have been turned in.

Proof of Residency (continuing students)

The Santa Clara Unified School District Board of Education now requires that every student’s registry be verified each year.

In July each year we have Proof of Residency for Continuing Students. Continuing Students will only need to follow STEP 3 above and provide Proof of Residency along with the following:

Required Immunizations to enter school

Here is a list of immunizations that are required*:

  • TB skin test - PPD/Mantoux test given within 12 months of beginning school (all grades).
  • 4 Polio - last booster after 4th birthday.
  • 5 DTP - last booster after 4th birthday.
  • 3 Hepatitis B
  • 2 MMR (Measles/Mumps/Rubella) - after 1st birthday
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox) - must be received before school entry (or provide date of Chicken Pox infection)

*Do not wait for immunization record to be completed before registering, you will be given some time to complete immunizations

Open Enrollment for 2018-2019

The OPEN ENROLLMENT period for the 2018-2019 school year was 

From January 10, 2018, through February 7, 2018 and is now CLOSED

 

WHAT IS OPEN ENROLLMENT? The Santa Clara Unified Board of Trustees has established a policy of limited Open Enrollment. Although some of our schools are already at capacity, this policy allows parents who reside within the boundaries of the district to request enrollment of their children at "any District school which may have space available for additional students."  

 

WHO NEEDS TO DO THIS? Current Laurelwood students who do NOT wish to apply for Open Enrollment for a different school do NOT need to take any action at this time. Registration for the 2018-2019 school year will occur automatically. Only those who wish to attend a SCUSD school other than their assigned SCUSD “Home School” need to complete the Open Enrollment application process.

 

HOW and WHERE DO I GO TO APPLY FOR OPEN ENROLLMENT

Situation A) If your student IS already currently enrolled in a SCUSD school (and therefore has an assigned SCUSD 6 digit permanent ID number), you may simply apply for Open Enrollment online.  GO TO Santa Clara Unified Open Enrollment Application. NO appointment or visit to a school office is necessary. Do NOT follow any of the steps for Registration/Open Enrollment that are listed below.

OR

Situation B) If your student is NOT currently enrolled in a SCUSD school, you must complete Registration and Open Enrollment at your "Home School" site- GO TO SCUSD's My School Locator to find your assigned “Home School”.  If Laurelwood IS your "Home School" then you will first need to sign up ONLINE for your appointment day/time and complete ALL OF THE REGISTRATION STEPS in the box below, entitled "NEW STUDENT Registrations for the 2018-2019 school year for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades".  During your Registration Appointment, you will then let us know that you are interested in applying for Open Enrollment (i.e. applying to attend a SCUSD school other than Laurelwood.).  You will need to bring ALL of the required paperwork listed with you to your appointment.

 

WHAT ABOUT TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN ("TK")?  Transitional Kindergarten (TK) does not have Open Enrollment.  A school with Transitional Kindergarten (TK) on campus will be chosen for your student. If Laurelwood IS your "Home School", please refer to/complete the New Student Registration process by following all of the steps listed below in the box entitled "NEW STUDENT Registrations for the 2018-2019 school year for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades"For more information on Transitional Kindergarten (TK), GO TO SCUSD's Transitional Kindergarten page.

 

WHAT IF WE ARE NEW AND ARE NOT EVEN ENROLLED IN A SCUSD SCHOOL YET? Students NEW to SCUSD must first complete the New Student Registration process at their “Home School”, in addition to applying for Open Enrollment. GO TO SCUSD's My School Locator to find your assigned “Home School”.  IF Laurelwood IS your "Home School" then you will first need to sign up ONLINE for your appointment day/time and complete ALL OF THE REGISTRATION STEPS in the box below, entitled "NEW STUDENT Registrations for the 2018-2019 school year for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades".  During your Registration Appointment, you will then let us know that you are interested in applying for Open Enrollment (i.e. applying to attend a SCUSD school other than Laurelwood.)  You will need to bring ALL of the required paperwork listed with you to your appointment.
