Open House April 25, 2017, 6-7pm

We look forward to seeing all of the Laurelwood families during our annual Open House on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Please note that 4/25 is also a special minimum day for students with an early dismissal time of 1:21pm for all grades.

For Open House, students are encouraged to bring their parents, siblings, grandparents and other significant family/friends to see their classrooms and take a look at some of the fun and exciting curriculum they have been working on this year.  Please remember that students are to remain inside the classrooms WITH their parents/guests at ALL times.  As this night is planned for current students to showcase all of their hard work and activities, we ask that if you would like to discuss your child's progress or specific issues/concerns, to please make an appointment for a conference to do so with their teacher at a time other than during Open House.  Please also note that Open House is NOT a night to “shop” for future teachers, though you may visit any classroom to simply take a peek at topics that are taught in that grade.

Kindergarten Registration for 2017-2018 School Year

Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-2018 school year will begin January 17, 2017, at elementary schools throughout the District. Kindergarten registration is ongoing for new students entering the District any time after the initial enrollment period. Please register your child at your school of residence. If you do not know your school of residence, please refer to the District's School Finder

As the potential for new kindergarten enrollments in some of the District’s elementary schools may exceed the school’s capacity, parents are encouraged to register their incoming kindergarten student as early as possible, as students are placed based on their registration date.

Online process for Free/Reduced Meal Applications

SCUSD announces an exciting way of applying for free and reduced meals. The Online Free/Reduced Meal Application process is available for all families in English as well as Spanish for the school year.  Please submit applications for the school year AFTER July 1st or they will be invalid.  All families will be able to go to https://onlinemealapps.scusd.net anywhere they would like…libraries, home, school sites, etc.  Only ONE application is needed per household and so if you apply online you do not need to fill out a paper application.

Biometrics (Finger Scanning) Program at Laurelwood

During the 2016-2017 school year, Laurelwood began a biometric finger scanning identification system for our cafeteria meal program in an effort to provide accurate student identification as well as security for our student accounts. This will replace our meal cards and students inputting their pin numbers. We want to eliminate identification errors and clerical errors and provide an easy and accurate way to identify students and be sure no one else can charge items to their accounts. Students will scan their fingers as they come through the cafeteria to account for their meal.

Please click HERE for more information.
