PTA OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

 President:  Presides over all meetings; oversees all committees 

1^st Vice President/Student Services:  Fills in for president as needed; supervises student store; coordinates and fulfills t-shirt orders

 2^nd Vice President/Volunteers:  Recruits and manages volunteers

 3^rd Vice President/Membership:  Informs the community about PTA; collects dues and distributes PTA membership cards

 4^th Vice President/Ways Means:  Supervises the organization of all fundraising

 5^th Vice President/Campus Services:  Organizes the use of e- scrip; coordinates Box Tops for Education program

 Corresponding Secretary:  Acknowledges and maintains records of donations

 Recording Secretary:  Records the minutes of all PTA meetings

 Treasurer:  Maintains financial records of the PTA

 Auditor:  Audits PTA books twice per year and reports findings to membership

 Historian:  Keeps a recording of the year’s events; calculates volunteer hours

 Parliamentarian:  Assists the President with parliamentary procedure; provides instructions to the Nominating Committee

 Faculty Rep:  Represents the Laurelwood faculty at PTA meetings

 Outreach:  Provides evening parent education programs

 Back to School Luncheon:  Welcomes staff to the new school year

 Honorary Service:  Coordinates service awards for exemplary volunteers

 Literacy and Math Nights:  Plans and coordinates evening events where students and parents can learn together

 Family Dance:  Plans and coordinates an evening dance for Laurelwood families

Hospitality:  Organizes refreshments for functions such as bake sales, Science Fair, PTA Holiday Party and PTA Board Installation dinner

 Blue Day Coffees:  Organizes and provides refreshments for monthly morning coffees

 Newsletter Editor:  Compiles articles and edits the monthly newsletter

 Publicity:  Makes posters, banners and flyers to publicize PTA events

 Book Fair:  Organizes the presentation of books for sale and manages the book sale and book sale finances

 Science Fair:  Assists in the displaying and judging of student scientific projects

 Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week:  Coordinates luncheons and class activities to demonstrate appreciation for the Laurelwood staff

 Multicultural Festival:  Plans and coordinates an afternoon festival that celebrates the diversity of our school community

 Walk-a-thon:  Plans and coordinates PTA’s largest annual fundraising event

 Silent Auction:  Solicits donations for and facilitates auction during Walk-a-thon
